



| Dr. Rick Brown, BSc., DVM | ||

Rick hails from the prairie town of Brandon, MB where he graduated with a combined Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and Brandon University. He attended veterinary school in Saskatoon and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Rick has called the Yukon home and has been practicing in the north since 1999. Rick and Kim opened Alpine Veterinary Medical Centre together in February of 2005 and the practice has been growing steadily ever since. Rick moved to the Yukon to take advantage of the vast outdoors and enjoys all it has to offer with his wife Sandy, children Alex, Lydia, and Selene, and his dog Empi. |

| Dr. Kim Friedenberg, BSc., DVM | ||

Kim did his undergraduate degree in Kelowna at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and then completed his Veterinary degree in Saskatoon at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. He has lived most of his life up in the Yukon including attending grade school in Whitehorse for nine years and then practicing veterinary medicine for over ten years. His interests include photography, concert band, carpentry, mechanics, fishing and indoor soccer. He enjoys spending time with his fiancé and cats. |

Jessica graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She has a dog named Annie and two cats, Leo and Sal. She enjoys exploring the North along with Annie, via foot, ski, boat and bike. |

Helen is a proud Maritimer who grew up in New Brunswick and graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2001 and from Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI in 2007. She moved to the Yukon to join her partner, Ryan Gould and to start her career at Alpine in June of 2007. She and Ryan are loving the outdoor lifestyle of the Yukon. They spend winters skiing and enjoying wood fires and summers hiking, camping, and gardening. But mostly her life revolves around her animals (adopted from shelters from both sides of Canada)-Onion (a Siamese Mix from Mae Bachur Animal Shelter), Moses (a Maine Coon Mix from NS), Rex (a Doberman/Shepherd from NS), and Holly (a Husky Mix from Pelly Crossing via Mae Bachur). She loves work at Alpine and is enjoying the exciting mix of people and animals that make up our clientele. |

| Dr. Heather McCann, DVM | ||

Heather grew up on Vancouver Island. She did her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan and then went on to graduate from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 2001. From there she went to California for an equine medical/surgical internship. She has practiced in Edmonton, Georgia, and Ladysmith, and has now settled in Whitehorse wither her husband Andy, a flight medic for Yukon EMS. Heather has a passion for horses. She brought her 5 year Oldenburg mare North with her. The pair have been competing in dressage. Heather’s family also consists of two wonderful dogs - a Shepherd Cross named Gulliver, and Naula, a Great Dane. Heather is looking forward to exploring her new home and meeting all the new faces - both with and without fur! |

Michelle completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 as well as her Bachelors degree in Animal Biology in 2007 from the University of Guelph in Ontario. She first came to Whitehorse as a student in 2010 and fell in love with all the Yukon has to offer. Michelle spends her free time exploring the adventures of the north and the beautiful landscape. She has two wonderful kitties, Otto and Leena who are also very excited to be in Whitehorse and meet new friends. |
